You're right! I thought that's who it was but couldn't find the photo when I went back to search for it online, so I wondered if I was mistaken... but it's Gene Tierney after all. She is such a stunning subject.
I always have at least two images that I'm drawing inspiration from (portrait + object/animal/flower). I start with the portrait, whichever one jumps out at me, and then from there my imagination decides what I want to add to tell the story. I always use a reference for each element to make it as realistic as possible, but the magic is really how they end up becoming one original image. I use chose colors carefully as well for mood and balance, but at the secret is really that I listen to what my imagination tells me, it's the boss over technique and skill. I focus on getting to know & trust my imagination and the rest just seems to follow
I've been told a few times: "You should be a tattoo artist!", so I have considered it, but I prefer paper to skin it's much more forgiving. I'm always open to new projects, so if someone has an idea they want me to create for them I'm happy to hear it. If you have something in mind (imagery & style-wise) and idea of your budget I would be more than willing to see what I can do.[link]
